Lightning Bulb | An Inktellectual Project

A perfect world has books that you can read, explore, discover, learn, and grow. Aside from my phone and tablet, books are my best companions wherever I go. I can’t live without books. I’m a huge fan of young adult fantasy and adventure. These are the genres that allow me to forget about the crazy, mundane world and travel to realms bizarre and, most of the time, different from our own. When it comes to books, I love reading paperbacks. The feel and smell of real paper is just amazing. There is something that cannot be explained when you are flipping through the pages of actual books.

How to Terminate Self-Doubt

I would say, my life had been racing and revolving around various sets of personal, financial and professional goals. Most likely for some people, I can be docketed as the trying hard achiever and a disappointed dreamer. When I was younger, I kept plenty of imposing aspirations, but I was too afraid to engage myself in the challenges to realize them. During that time, I thought it would probably take years for me to be able to act and decide if I were ready for the consequential changes. That’s,

Trash to Cash for Survival: A Closer Look at the Life of Scavengers

You know what? I admire their determination, optimism and willpower to survive. You see, it is very difficult for us to wake up at 9 o’clock in the morning to go to work. But before the sun rises, they are already digging in the dump to get much more than what they need. They don’t use sanitizers and they don’t care if they would get different illnesses from excavating, with their bare hands, what is useful from the ravaged.

Hope In Time of Corona Virus

I find it dismal that it took two years and the emergence of a silent pandemic for me to realize that I hav e ignored this site for too long. Honestl y, for the past several years, I lost grip of the one thing that really makes me happy—aside from books and music—and that is writing for personal fulfillment. I was occupied trying to make a living and working out on realizing a lifelong dream. However, amidst the hysteria of embracing that personal goal, COVID-19 virus came up...

Summer Means Fun

e summer season in the Philippines will be ending soon, but I am uncertain if there were a lot of people who happened to get the opportunity to go outdoors for recreation, to enjoy the beach and to just bask in the summer heat. Since most parts of the world are on quarantine and people are on social distance, travel is kind of an impossible thing to do for now so I guess summer will just go by for me without being able to wallow in it. Since I cannot go on a summer trip, I will just have to do

Laugh More, Take Care of Your Heart

At any gathering, I always prefer to be at a safe corner where I can be myself without having to worry of unremitting conversations. I admit, I don’t have a good sense of humor and I don’t have impressive and really hilarious jokes that would make you laugh. In short, I am a boring companion to those who love elongated chatting. I am reclusive and I can survive isolation. It doesn’t really mean I have an empty social life. Nevertheless, I can make enlightening pleasantries as well. Most people’

Froi of the Exiles

I was enamored by Froi’s transformation from a preposterous, spiteful street boy to a young man of strength, intelligence and loyalty. Finding home in Lumatere with the people who embrace him like their own, training with the guards and learning the respectable ways of life turned him into a fine man. His life since the curse on Lumatere was lifted has been absolutely different and all those years he spent in his new home had prepared him to a greater challenge—a journey that would change his life forever for he would unravel the truth of who he is, where and to who he truly belongs and what he can become. It’s the song that’s sleeping on his blood that would lead him to discover his true destiny.

A Walk Through Life

In this journey we call life, I unearthed valuable things profusely booming around me. I attempted to seize them all but many of them certainly escaped, and some of them I probably failed to prize. Nonetheless, I have treasured many of them and when the perfect opportunity presented itself to me, I did not hesitate to share them to the world. "A Walk Through Life" is the outcome of more than a decade of writing. It is a collection of prose, poems, short ruminations, and song lyrics that represen

100 Flash

The city is on a lockdown...I was unsure if I still could, but I must go home. It’s getting late and my stomach is churning. I don’t know, but I later found myself in an empty Dunkin’ Donuts where I heard her angelic voice. Then, I saw her behind the counter. Oh! sweet heavens...She’s Amber and seeing her made me feel like my shattered heart has mended. Before she could take my orders, I defied the tremors inside and asked her to a date. Her face turned red, looked doubtful but besotted. Then, she
